Cornelia Dippel studied biology at the Philipps-Universität Marburg. In her diploma and doctoral theses she investigated the biology and the chemical communication of bark beetles and a predatory beetle species. During her postdoctoral period she was the executive coordinator of a four year project funded by the German Research Foundation at the Institute of Applied Zoology / Animal Ecology at the Freie Universität Berlin. The focus of this project was the chemical control of Diprionidae parasitisation. In 2004 she became one of the two CEOs of IS Insect Services GmbH.
Cornelia Dippel oversees the insect breeding operations and performance of pest control efficacy studies on pests such as clothes moths and cockroaches. She is also the project coordinator of two research projects aimed at developing alternative control strategies for vectors of phytoplasmoses.
